I probably did average/just above passing. >_> I haven’t written a decent essay in months, especially to an open topic…
But anyways, oh my stars that prompt. [And considering that they change it every time, odds are no one’s gonna get it for awhile. Nor did they say DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT EVER so :P]
I thought late last night that I should probably read up on SOME sort of social issue or something… Haha, nope. Glad I didn’t; would have not helped me. Also thought that maybe I should have practiced a prompt, but as I was writing the essay I realized that all the RP posts and prompts and shit totally count for impromptu writing and helped me write on something I’m not familiar with or have no plan for. c:
“Cal Poly Pomona has Billy the Bronco with a hoof raised in the air for victory for the 2011-2012 parking permits, and the staffs had a some other kind of horse that wasn’t the mascot. What design would you suggest for 2012-2013 to represent the University? Explain why. Explain its meaningfulness to you.”
Hahahaha
Hahaha
haha
ha.
If anyone knows me, they know that I’m NOT very good at coming up with imagery/symbolism, especially one that’s very meaningful. So I spent all of one second going
and then, seasoned essay/test taker I am, I just went to work thinking up things that would be symbolic
First I thought of a hill/mountains because we have all these hills, but that’s Mount SAC’s thing, so I was pretty sure we couldn’t use it. Then I thought up the stuff that could relate to hills and horses, like walking up them or a horse riding on a mountain. [no seriously, I thought of that. I’m awful at these things.]
But neither of those have meaning, so I decided to think up what would have meaning to me, or that I would consider a notable landmark about CPP. …Aside from its hill(s).

Well, things that are meaningful or notable about Cal Poly are: hill, nature/trees/green/LOTS AND LOTS OF GREEN, and the CLA/Administration/”Pointy Building”. I quickly wrote words and made a word map of sorts for the two ideas; greenery/nature and the pointy building. I ended up having more for the greenery than the CLA, so I went with that.
And while I was working on mapping it, I ended up realizing, HEY LOOK IT CAN BE SYMBOLIC/MEANINGFUL IN TWO WAYS: THE ABUNDANCE OF NATURE, and PEACEFULNESS.
Then as I was writing the paragraph on the greenery, I realized “green”. As in, the three R’s, reduce, reuse, recycle. SO NOW IT HAD THREE MEANINGS AND ONE OF THEM’S ACTUALLY DECENT
then I wrote on that for forty minutes and made sure I could start the other, original second half in the last 20 since it was just gonna be a mildly poetic freewrite.
So I’m willing to bet that I passed, but it also probably wasn’t that well organized/had decent topic sentences, since I did it in an order different han I usually do…. And the last time I took a sample test, I got the min for passing, so eh whatever.
Never stopped writing though. Managed to squeeze in most of my conclusion before the proctor called for time.
And I have to wait 4 weeks for my results. =n= Do not like that. Oh well.
